… I Have Killed 10 persons during operations – Gang Leader
The Nigerian Police Force has arrested the gang leader of a kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate in Niger State.
Some of the bandits, while being paraded on Tuesday, confessed that they usually kill their victims who cannot pay ransom and drink their blood.
Police spokesman, CSP Jimoh Moshood, while addressing newsmen on Tuesday, said “16 members of a vicious kidnapping and armed robbery gang terrorising Nigerians along Abuja-Kaduna road were arrested in Sabon Wuse in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger.”
He said the gang leader, Ibrahim Umar, also confessed to have killed 10 persons during their operations.
The PPRO named the other suspects to include Isiaka Mohammed, Hassan Usman, Mubarak Adamu, Yisuf Sani, Musa Usman, Yakubu Wakili, and Abdullahi Abdulkarim among others.
He said items recovered from the suspects were five AK47 rifles, nine AK47 magazines, two cutlasses, one cell phone and 1,598 rounds of ammunition.
He said the arrest followed a coordinated operation by the Special Tactical Squad operating in the area.
While saying that the suspects were arrested during the yuletide, He maintained that it was a huge success for the Nigeria police and Nigerians in general.
He added that the suspects have all confessed to the roles they played in the crime, saying that they would be arraigned in court after the completion of investigation.
He maintained that the force has evolved new security arrangement to fight and prevent crimes in the country in the New Year.
