OSUN: Adeleke Won Election And Heart Of His People, Accord Party Candidate, Ogunbiyi, Congratulates Gov-Elect


The candidate of the Accord Party in the just concluded Osun state governorship election, Akin Ogunbiyi, has congratated the winner, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Ogunbiyi while fielding questions from the ace broadcaster Dr Akinkunmi Alabi on a Fresh FM 104.9 radio program tagged “Òrò tóun lo” congratulates Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the polls.

He also saluted all the other fourteen men that includes himself who contested in the election alongside Adeleke.

According to the Ile Ogbo born politician, in any contest a winner must emerge and that in this case Senator Ademola Adeleke has emerged the winner.

He therefore charged every well meaning Osun people to lend their support to this new administration which he said will be inaugurated on 27th November, 2022.

He stated that If it is all about Osun State and its betterment everybody must therefore support the governor-elect to paddle the state canoe to a glorious shore.

The insurance magnate turned politician went further to state that ironically two winners have eventually emerged in this recently passed Osun governorship election. He went further to explain that while the senator won in the election, himself also won the heart of the people.

Ogunbiyi expressed satisfaction that he was able to traverse the whole length and breadth of the state to engage the people in a robust house to house political campaigns like no one has ever done before in the state. He said this gave him more experiences and opportunities to meet also know the state and its people more.

Asked if he was ready to cooperate and assist the new administration; Ogunbiyi expressed his readiness to assist the new government with his inputs if invitation was extended to him.

Akin Ogunbiyi emphatically said that he has no plan or reason to approach the courts or any election petition tribunal over the election.

The Accord party candidate also reiterated his current status as a chieftain of Accord party. He said nothing has changed at this time and that if there will be any change in the future everybody will be carried along.

He revealed his party plans to set up a committee which will have to take a critical look into how the election went. The committee will also make its recommendation which, according to him, will help the party to make necessary corrections also make a better preparation in their future outing also in order to chart a general new course.

Dr Ogunbiyi was full of praises and thanks first and foremost to Almighty God also his Accord family. He thanked his deputy governorship candidate Alhaji Kunle Jimoh, the Accord state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, the State Working Committee members. He also mentioned for special thanks his bosom friend, Akin Adeyi.

Ogunbiyi did not forget his own jewel of inestimable value Mrs Adedotun Ogunbiyi whom he described as his mainframe all the time.

Finally, he decried the menace of votes buying which he said characterised the election. According to him, much as the INEC may have improved in their onerous task the vote buying still remain a major bane to their total success.
He however charged citizens to shun vote buying and selling. He charged them to try and vote according to the dictate of their consciences in the forthcoming general elections.
