Every four years, we go to the poll to elect a governor for our dear state. However, it has been tales of agonies and disappointments since 1999 when this democracy started. Even when we switched between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), they have shown no difference in shattering our collective aspirations. They are either the same in poor management of our collective resources or beret of positive ideas in moving us forward.
As another governorship election dawn, we must be firm to reject the circle of deceits that have stagnated our growth as a people. Rather than allow ourselves to be cajoled to serve the interest of few politicians, we must be courageous to embrace a new thinking, something fresh, and an idea that placed our interests as a people as paramount above other interests. We must see beyond the deceptive moves of the current administration. We cannot continue with failed system, collapsed economy and poor leadership.
The next governorship election should preface the possibility of a prosperous Ekiti State; not another selfish power grab by our oppressors. So, we must exercise strong resilience from cheap propagandas and blackmails that are calculated attempts to further impoverish us. It’s a chance to guarantee a better tomorrow and we mustn’t waver in giving our mandate to the right person. It’s time to adopt a new thinking in Ekiti.
A thinking that throws-up a leadership that pursues the assurance of a better tomorrow. Someone whose experience and antecedent proved his capacity to render leadership that gives our people a choice away from poverty and underdevelopment.
Our situation is tense and Ekiti needs a leadership that won’t deny and avoid our real problems. We have to critically assess those aspiring for Ekiti top seat and identify the right person with the zeal, ideas and capacity for service. We must elect someone who shared the dreams of our founding fathers and determined to explore his experience and exposure to satisfy our collective aspirations.
In determining our choice, we should be adamant on a passionate manager who will explore the enormous potentials, both natural and human resources, to benefit the purpose of all no matter their social status. We should seek to elect someone with verifiable private background and entrepreneurial prowess that would create a society where both the young and old can satisfy their aspirations.
There is no doubt that Otunba Segun Adewale (Aeroland) is better fit to liberate Ekiti from the pang of misgovernance that has pervaded our state for too long. His record over the years is a testimony of his capability to bring about a new dawn for Ekiti.
His well-thought out plans for governance anchored on #RethinkEkiti is indicative of his vast understanding of the yearning of the people of Ekiti and preparedness to serve.
From his depth of understanding on driving wealth to his deep-rooted plan of resources diversification for efficient running of the state, not forgetting his plan to create entrepreneurship hub to address unemployment and commitment to prompt payment of wages, among other intentions, Otunba Segun Adewale stands out as the ideal choice that could paddle our state out of the current impasse facing it.
More importantly, he is seeking the governorship seat on the platform of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), a credible alternative platform from the regrets of APC and PDP. Just as Otunba Segun Adewale reinforced hopes for a better tomorrow, ADP represents a change from the disappointment of the past and as such, we should embrace it. We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking that orchestrated them. Rather, we should adopt a new thinking that focuses on solution.
Hence, Otunba Segun Adewale as well as ADP Ekiti is the face for a better tomorrow. Ekiti state is our most sacred treasure and we must ensure that someone who is honest, positive thinker who has unblemished reputation and most importantly, have the fear of God and respect human dignity, is saddled with our governance.
