The member, house of representatives for Pankshin, Kanke/Kanam federal constituency from Plateau state, Hon Yusuf Gagdi, has called on Muslim faithful to demonstrate love and peace to their neighbors while celebrating this year Eid-El-Kabir.
Gagdi made the appeal in an interview with Journalists on Saturday, shortly before he embarked on visitation of family friends and political associates felicitating with citizens to mark the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
According to the legislator, Eid-El-Kabir is a religious celebration, that maks the love exhibited by God to mankind through the sacrifices offered by Adam to Allah unconditionally.
Similarly, the council chairman of Jos North local government area Hon Usman Bala, also in an interview with Journalists after performing the slautering a Ram at his residence, sued for peaceful coexistence among citizens of the state.
The Jos North council chairman solicited for the cooperation of citizens to live in peace with one another irrespective of religious difference.
He assured that management of the council in collaboration with security agencies have made adquate security of lives and property, during and after the religious celebration.
On his part, the chief Imman of Nasco Fible Mosque Sheikh Khalid Adam, during a sermon at the Mosque, had appealed to Muslims across Nigeria, and particularly those in Plateau state to live peacefully with their non Muslim neighbors as they celebrate.
He called on people occupying elective positions to make life meaningful, more easier than the current economic hardship is been experiencing.
Sheikh Adam noted with regrets the increasing insecurities; he condemned the recent attacks on the advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari.
During the sermon, the Islamic cleric also charged parents and guardians whose children have attained the age of 18, to endeavour to obtained their permanent voters card PVC’s, he said it will enable them also participate in the choice of next leaders of the country at various levels.
The cleric, Gagdi, and the Jos North council chairman Usman Bala, jointly urged Muslim faithfuls to be mindful of the significant and spiritual aspect of the celebration.
