Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka has condemned, in strong term, the assault orchestrated against former governor Ayodele Fayose by some hoodlums.
Recall that Fayose was assulted at the grand finale campaign rally of PDP’s governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) by some identified hoodlums in Ondo town on Wednesday.
Further reacting, Eleka said any evil plan against his boss, Fayose, will not see the light of the day.
He said: “I call on the leadership of People’s Democratic Party, PDP to investigate the unfortunate incidence to avoid further reoccurrence of such attacks in future events of the party which may tell much on the chances of the party and its candidates.
“It is not only unfortunate, but disheartening that a former governor who has contributed greatly to the sustainability of the party, even when others left could be treated with such disdain by thugs.
“It should be noted that Fayose is a national leader whose political influence has been a blessing to PDP. It is an embarrassment to the entire members of PDP in Ekiti state to see former governor Fayose being humiliated in a gathering where he should be welcomed.”
He however called on the National Working Committee, NWC of the party and other well meaning leaders of the party to investigate the attack and bring the culprits to book to serve as deterrent for others.
