… Say He’s An Affliction, Curse To People Of Kaduna.
Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has condemned the Governor of his state, Nasir el-rufai for allegedly ordering the demolition of the new Secretariat of a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that NEWSBREAKng had earlier reported that the secretariat situated at 11B, Sambo road, GRA Kaduna is supposedly owned by Senator Suleiman Hukunyi who declared his intention to run as Governor of the state in 2019.
It was also learnt that the faction, over the weekend, had issued a 6 months suspension on el-rufai for anti-party activities.
Senator Hukunyi, while speaking on the development during the plenary on Tuesday, said the governor “stooped low” and personally drove a bulldozer in the early hours of the day to demolish the secretariat.
Reacting to this, Senator Sani accused his governor of making similar moves on people who are against him by using “the official stamp” of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “This comes a year after the same governor demolished the past residence of Alhaji Inuwa Abdul-Kadir, the National Vice Chairman North-west of the APC. This is on a series of arbitrariness of tyranny perpetuated by the governor against dissenting opposition voices in the state.
“It is of concern that the governor of the state is in the habit of name dropping the name of Mr. President. There are reports and claims that the Governor has been saying and has been acting with the authority and on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“That his action has the official stamp and goes ahead to eradicate and dislodge and at the same time bring an end to opposing and dissenting voices within the party. In his own thinking, that would send a message to other persons outside of the state and other members of the country to remain silent to wishes of people in the position of power today.
“It is of concern to us that these actions by the governor have been done in the name of Mr. President who he believed that he is his son that he so much loves. Governor Nasir El-Rufai is an affliction to the people of Kaduna state and a curse to us.”
The lawmaker noted that 20 years after military regime, Nasir is acting with “rapid ambition and arrogance of power” in the qualities of “Hitler or a Stalin or Nebuchadnezzar.”
He equally called on President Buhari to “caution his beloved son who has unleashed a reign of terror and has behaved in the most despicable and irresponsible way.”
He further admonished: “It is a fact that if this crisis is not in any way nipped in the bud, it will in every way, catapult into something bigger.”
