2019: Ex-Minister Joins Presidential Race


… Launches Campaign Platform


Former Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has joined the 2019 presidential race on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former Minister, who currently chairs the Ex-Ministers Forum in the PDP, recently launched an online platform to propagate the presidential bid.

Investigations by NEWSBREAKng confirmed that Turaki is planning to launch a multi-lingua campaign platform to ensure he reaches the grassroots.

It was confirmed that the former Minister has adopted the slogan, “New Face of Hope” with coordinators already appointed in the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Besides serving as Coordinating Minister of Labour and Productivity, the Kebbi state born Turaki is currently a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP.

A post on the Facebook partly announcing Turaki’s ambition reads:


“A born leader, patriotic citizen, bridge builder that personifies the unity of Nigeria. This Presdidential Aspirant represents a break from a controversial past and the dawn of a new purposeful future for Nigeria. He will lay the foundation of a modern, prosperous Nigeria where every section will be proud to belong.

“Honesty, ability, articulation and intelligence are attributes of this Presidential Aspirant. He is a very strong-willed personality with capacity, yet passionate.

“A true democrat who will uphold his professional and PDP’s democratic ideology in the rule of law. A candidate with decades of experience fighting for the rights of Nigerians and a Nigeria where the constitution is upheld in every aspect of Nation building and governance.”

The post however asked loyalists to await the unveiling of the aspirant, at a yet to be announced date.
